Studying for the Azure Fundamentals certification the past few weeks has reminded me of my passion for IT. The past few years I have not been able to put any time towards maintaining or growing my IT skills due to learning the field of occupational health and safety. It has been great getting back into thinking about IT and all the amazing things we can do!
I started thinking about how years ago I had a large collection of used and hand me down hardware that I had cobbled together into a home lab. As I was learning about safety my lab was not being touched and after a flood while cleaning up the basement I retired and recycled all of my lab equipment. I miss that stuff so much! It was fun to play with, tinker, break, fix, and learn.
I want to do it again! It will be fun and will be the best way I can try to shake off some of the rust on my skills right now. So to reward myself for my certification I ordered a small server that I can start playing with. I am looking forward to when it will get here!
